About:240-Hour Visa-Free Transit in Guangdong

visit Shenzen from netherlands for 4 days, pick up by car from hong-kong

Hi, we want to visit shenzen in november, we will fly from amsterdam-hong kong, then we will be picked up by car and drive to shenzen, after 4 days we will return too hong-kong en and than fly back to amsterdam. can we use this 144hours visa for this visit ?

No, you cannot. You can only use visa free transit scheme in Guangdong province if taking a flight from Hong Kong to Guangzhou. Anyway, you have a solution and it is called Shenzhen VOA. This is a visa on arrival valid for 5 days and the price is 168 CNY. Since you will be going by car, you should take Huanggang border crossing where you will obtain this visa. You are advised to bring your passport size photos to speed up the application procedure. It is also advisable to have the mentioned amount in Chinese cash although it is quite probable that you will be able to pay with your credit cards.

One last detail... The only drawback of this visa is the fact that you are allowed to move only within the Shenzhen Special Economic Zone.
