144hr Visa free transit London - Guangzhou - HK - Guangzhou - Vietnam

Hi, I am flying from London to Vietnam. I am looking to stop over in Guangzhou for an extended stop over.
So If I [fly from London - arrive in Guangzhou - look around Guangzhou for 1 day - take a train to Hongkong stay 1 day in HK - take a train back to Guangzhou - and fly out of Guangzhou to go to Vietnam] would this be possible under the visa free transit?

That is not possible without a visa. 144 hours visa-free transit in Guangdong only applies for arrivals by air. So you cannot take the train back to Guangzhou.
