About:China Family Reunion Visa

Marry my girlfriend in China Q1 visa

Hi, I'm planning to go to china and marry my girlfriend,
What type of Visa would I need and after we get marry, can it be change to Q1 visa, if so, can I stay longer and get some kind of green card to be there on a permanent basis? Thanks

Is your gf a Chinese? If yes, you can first apply for a tourist visa in order to enter China. After you get married, you can change it into a Q1 type at local exit and entry administration. After that, apply for a temporary residence permit which allows you to stay for at least one year. It's impossible to get a permanent residence as soon as you get married.
