About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit FAQ

i am flying from London to Hong kong then plan to fly to Xian and via Hong kong back to Sydney.

is this eligible or the visa free?

Unfortunately, your itinerary is not eligible for any kind of visa free transit option because this is not a transit, but a visit to China.

Your solution to avoid a visa is to take a flight from Hong Kong to Xi'an and from Xi'an to Macau. Having in mind the vicinity of Macau and Hong Kong, this could be more convenient option than obtaining a visa in advance.
