About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit FAQ

I would like to visit the Harbin Ice Festival.

There is no direct flight from Amsterdam (I'm from the Netherlands) to Harbin. Therefor I have to fly first to Beijing. Then transfer to a domestic flight to Harbin. On the way back it's Harbin to Beijing. And Beijing to Amsterdam. When starts the 72 hours free visa for Harbin? At the time I'm arriving in Beijing? Or when I'm arriving in Harbin?

You must pay for a visa in advance of your travel. There is no such thing as a free visa. Transit without visa does not apply for two reasons: you are not in transit to a third country, and you have multiple stops in Chinese transit zones.
