How about transit flights? Does the transit airport itself count as A or B (A-B-C with B is in China) or cannot? Example, London, direct flight, Shanghai - 144 hours stay - Shanghai, indirect flight back to London, e.g. via Moscow. Does that count as London - Shanghai - Moscow or as London - Shanghai - London
