About:Visa on Arrival

London - Shenzhen - Phuket - Beijing - London

Hi,
Do I need to apply for a visa beforehand or will I be ok?
I travel from London to Shenzhen and have 2 nights in Shenzhen (I also wanted to go to Hong Kong Disney for 1 of the nights). I then travel from Shenzhen to Phuket and spend 5 nights there. I then travel from Phuket to BJ and I have 2 nights there before I travel from BJ back to London. Any help / advice greatly appreciated. Many thanks

Here we have:

London - Shenzhen - Phuket

This itinerary is definitely eligible for 144 hour visa free transit, so you really don't need to apply for any kind of visa, including Shenzhen visa on arrival. Of course, you are eligible if your itinerary does not have any additional landings.

You have mentioned that you would maybe want to visit Hong Kong. In this case, your itinerary would be:

London - Shenzhen - Hong Kong

This is also eligible for 144 hour visa free transit in Shenzhen, but you should keep in mind that you will have to take a ferry from Shenzhen to Hong Kong and be careful when planning because your ferry cannot depart before 5:00 pm of the next day. The reason is simple, you will arrive in Shenzhen at 5:00 pm, scheduled time and to be eligible, you have to stay in Shenzhen for at least 24 hours and 1 minute. So, the first ferry you can take is the one departing from Shenzhen Shekou port at 6:30 pm (18:30) of the next day. Keep in mind that you will have to book this ticket online in advance and print out the e-confirmation you will receive. You will arrive at Shenzhen Shekou port in time and will collect your real ticket for Hong Kong. You have to book your ferry tickets through CKS - Chu Kong Passenger Transport company website.

To return from Hong Kong to Shenzhen, you will apply for Shenzhen VOA at Lo Wu / Luohu border crossing and proceed toward Shenzhen airport to catch your flight for Phuket.

The last part:

Phuket - Beijing - London

This itinerary is definitely eligible for 144 hour visa free transit, so you really don't need to apply for any kind of visa. Of course, you are eligible if your itinerary does not have any additional landings.

Now, you know your all options and you will decide what options will you take.
