About:240-Hour Visa-Free Transit in Guangdong

Transit visa 114 h from Paris to Guangzhou - hong-kong- paris

Taking a direct flight from Paris to Guangzhou I want to benefit the 144 h transit visa to have a medical examination in one spsecialized Guanghzou hospital and visit Guanghzou then I will leave China Mainland to Hong-Kong for wich I do not need an entry visa as I am French then I will return back to Paris.

Could you please confirm if my itinary is compliant with the transit visa rules as I will have with me the onward air ticket to Hong-Kong and the appar-hotel reservation in Guangzhou?
Has any one among you (readers) has aleady benefit this 144 h transit visa since it official release on past 01 May 2019??

I also have my passport stamped with Turkish & Pakistan visa is this can be a reason for rejecting my transit visa when arriving to Guangzhou airport??

Part one:

Yes, the itinerary:

Paris - Guangzhou - Hong Kong

If there are no some additional stops en route, is definitely eligible for 144 hour visa free transit.

Anyway, to be definitely eligible, you will have to decide how will you reach Hong Kong. You have three options:

- By plane, very easy and straightforward, but by far the most expensive one.
- By train, you have to use Guangzhou–Kowloon through train departing from Guangzhou East railway station and arriving at Hung Hom railway station in Hong Kong for a bit less than two hours. This is by far my favorite option because it goes from a center of one to the center of another city. The only drawback is the fact that you will have to decide, before your travel, where this ticket will be delivered to you, i.e. in which hotel. You can book a ticket for this train on this website and you will receive an e-confirmation that you will use as a proof of your real intention that you will really travel by using 144 TWOV in Guangdong province. This is the option my brother used for his travel Bangkok - Guangzhou - Hong Kong just 8 days ago.
- By ferry, a bit more complicated, but used by people who plan to visit Shenzhen beside Guangzhou. So, you can take a ferry from Shenzhen Shekou port to Hong Kong Macau Ferry Terminal. The procedure of booking is through CKS - Chu Kong Passenger Transport website and you will receive an e-confirmation. This e-confirmation is the same as for the train. You will print it out and use as a proof for your 144 TWOV. You will get a real ticket at Shekou ferry port for your travel to Hong Kong.

Part two:

A reservation of accommodation is not mandatory, but is welcomed and in case that you decide in favor of a train, you will have to have a hotel address.

Your Turkish and Pakistani visas will raise eyebrows at immigration authorities, but you will explain them the reasons for your visits to the mentioned countries in the way that will not be perceived as politically motivated, but for a tourism, visit to your relatives, especially if one of them is your country of origine. Also, as you have mentioned that you intend to visit a medical facility, it is very wise to have some confirmation about it. This detail will reduce the question to just a few of them.
