About:240-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Entry on 144 visa waiver with Turkish stamp in passport

I have read that people have been refused entry due to having been to Turkey. Is this likely to cause me a problem? Should I not risk it and apply for a full tourist visa?

So far reports on Turkish stamps were concentrated on people who transited Beijing and fell under the 24-hour entry permit rules. AFAIK no such report exists for 144-hour transit yet. Also Turkish stamps have always been a problem for Europeans getting Chinese visas since around 2016 so by applying for a visa you will take the risk at the embassy instead of at the border. All in all, whether to apply for a visa is up to you.
