About:FAQ of Chinese Visa Application

My husband and I want to travel both to Taiwan and Hainan in late Sept to early oct -about 12 days.

We are Americans and we have one son teaching in Hainan and one son going to university in Taiwan . We wanted to visit both of them but we didn't know the requirements . We don't want to buy our tickets if we won't be able to use them . Who can guide us with this?

Jan, you can enjoy visa free stay in Taiwan for shorter than 90 days; you can be exempt from China visas to Hainan for less than 30 days as an individual organized by Travel Agencies in Hainan. If you don't want to join in an travel agency, you should apply for tourist L type in advance, which requires valid passports, application forms an d recent photos, and your son's invitation letter.
