About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit FAQ

Layover in Beijing for 23:30 hr do we need visa? Green card holder and US citizen.

My parents have return flight from Mumbai(depart) - Beijing(layover) - New York(arrive). Need to confirm if they need to apply for visa to leave the airport in Beijing for green card holders(my mom) and US citizens (my dad)? Or they can get in-transit visa on arrival at the airport and go out of the airport during the layover period of 23:30 hr. They want to travel around Beijing to see the Great Wall.

They don't need any kind of visa to transit in China when it's under 24h.
When they wanna leave the airport they have to ask for a temporary permit.
There's no guarantee to get it but with a layover of nearly 24h and a hotel booking, it should be no problem.
