About:240-Hour Visa-Free Transit

This should be fine correct?

I am flying in from Addis Ababa > Beijing and onwards to Pyongyang. I then return from Pyongyang > Beijing and connect to Kuala Lampur and onwards to Bali. On my return back to Addis Ababa, I fly from Bali to Manila > Beijing and onwards to Addis Ababa. This should be fine correct? As in all cases I have a third confirmed booking. I am travelling on a Canadian passport. Please confirm if this will be fine.

Great. Yes I will be flying both ways.. to and from Pyongyang. So fly ADD > BEIJING (Stay 3 days) > PYONGYANG followed by return trip from PYONGYANG > BEIJING (11 hour wait.. will go out to the city with friends) > KUALA LAMPUR > BALI. I will return using BALI > MANILA > BEIJING and have a stop over for 12 hours, I have booked an airport hotel for this. From there I will carry on to my flight back to ADD, using my same initial return ticket that I came to Beijing with. This should be fine? Please confirm as I am really worried about the technicaiti

Just to confirm that.. my flight to Beijing is booked as a return flight originating from Addis Ababa and returning to the same place. But as discussed.. in between I will be going to Bali within 12 hours of returning from Pyongyang (via air) and then back from Bali 2 weeks later to connect to my same return flight to Addis Ababa within 11 hours. So ideally my flight to Beijing and returning is one ticket.. the flight to Pyongyang is a return flight and the flight to Bali is a one way and the return from Bali to Beijing is a one way on another airline connecting at Manila and onwards to Beijing. This will be fine? Please also clarify if I need to register at a police station and what that procedure is.

Yes, your itinerary is definitely eligible for 144 hour visa free transit in Beijing twice, of course under the condition that you have mentioned all your stops and that your return journey from Pyongyang is by plane and not by train.

Don't worry because all the details of your itinerary are perfectly eligible for 144 and 24 hour visa free transit.

Your first stop in Beijing is eligible for 144 hour visa free transit and the following two, for 24 hour visa free transit.

Please, keep in mind to have your tickets in hard copy and preferably your accommodation booking too.

The nature of your tickets is irrelevant as long as they are confirmed. It is fine to have return, single, multi-city or some other types of tickets and different airlines are also fine, so just relax and start to prepare your luggage :) You are definitely and undeniably eligible for visa free transit in China thrice.

As far as your registration at the police is concerned is not a problem at all. If your stay will be in a hotel, hotel will do a registration in your name. In case that you intend to stay in the home of your friends and/or relatives, you and the person that has or rents an apartment will appear at public security bureau and register your stay at the address of your host. Keep in mind that you will have to write down the name and the exact address of your host when applying for 144 hour visa free transit.
