Applying for China Travel (L) Tourism Visa Without an Invitation Letter - US Citizen, in Lagos

Good day,
Im planning a DIY trip to China Guangzhou and Thailand) - sponsored by me. Assuming I don't know any one in either of these places to legally provide a letter of invite, Is it possible to submit a full itinerary(s) instead of an official invitation letter for the visa application?
Eg. A round-trip ticket from your home country to China and back / Hotel booking reservations during the window of your flight itinerary/ Bank statement showing proof of funds and so on.

Dear, it is possible for you to submit a full itinerary instead of invitation letter for application. But you'd better to contact with Chinese Embassy for further confirmation.
