About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Can I get 72 hour visa free transit if I have previously held a Z visa.

Hi,
My partner and I are currently working and living in China on a Z visa. We'll be leaving China in February to do some traveling before continuing on home to the UK. We'd like to store some of our things here in a storage unit or with friends and come back for them before we return home. This would of course mean leaving the airport but I'm not sure what the situation is for those who have recently held another type of visa. Are we still eligible for 72 hour visa free transit?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Yes, you are eligible for 72/144 hour visa free transit because this is not a visa, but just a transit without visa through China. There is quite a number of people who at the end of their visa validity in China, travel around in the neighboring countries or territories and several days after the visa has expired, use this visa free transit option. Indeed, to enjoy this visa free transit policy, there are no specific prerequisites beside your citizenship and your itinerary.
