About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Originating Country Taiwan

I am a US Citizen with this flight: LAX-->Taipei--> Beijing for 48 hours --> LAX. Can I use the 72 hour exemption for this?

Of course you can. This is definitely eligible itinerary for 144 hour visa free transit in Beijing.

Just one detail... Please, keep in mind that your flight Beijing - Los Angeles should not have any additional landing within mainland China and Taiwan.
