About:Requirements for China Green Card (Permanent Residence Permit)

Renewal of existing residence permit

I have a residence permit, renewable every two years, based on marriage. We have been married for six years, but we have been living mainly outside China for the past two years, returning to China three or four times a year for not more than one month at a time. What can I expect when I apply to renew my residence permit later this year?

There are no blanket rules nationally so it depends on your province of domicile. The good thing is that if they turn down your application, you can still get a multi-entry Q2 visa outside China which offers 120-180 days of stay per entry.
