About:240-hour Visa-free Transit in Xiamen

Are we eligible for 144 hour visa free transit to fly from Bangkok - Xiamen - Copenhagen

My Boss is holding a Danish passport and he'll be flying from Bangkok - XM for a meeting from 24 - 26 July, he'll then need to fly to Copenhagen, but his flight will need to catch a flight from BKK - CPH with his family, so is he eligible for 144 hour visa free transit?

Thank you so much for your below reply, but the tickets have been bought since months ago and it's a fixed flight ticket with no refund.

Anyway, we'll apply an express Tourist Visa for him and hopefully we could get his passport back on Friday.

Thank you.

Unfortunately not because his itinerary is:

Bangkok - Xiamen - Bangkok - Copenhagen

As you can see, he is not in a transit because his immediate points before and after Xiamen are in the same country. This is treated as a visit to China and not as a transit.

I would suggest a bit of creativity by inserting some convenient country or territory within the itinerary to become eligible. Something like this:

Bangkok - Hong Kong - Xiamen - Bangkok
Bangkok - Xiamen - Hong Kong - Bangkok

By inserting Hong Kong as the third country (in reality a territory), this itinerary becomes qualified for 144 hour visa free transit.
