About:24-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Can i get 24 hour visa free transit?

I have a british passport and my journey is from london to bali, with china southern airline, with a 9 hour layover in Guangzhou. Am i eligible for visa free transit? Also do i have to pay for this permit? Am i allowed to exit the airport and go to the city within the layover time?

Of course you are eligible for visa-free transit. There’s no cost - you’re not getting a visa. Leaving the airport is at the discretion of the immigration officer on the day.

As far as the exit from the airport is concerned, you can apply for 24 free entry permit upon your landing in Guangzhou. Anyway, here you should be aware that the final decision about the issuing of this permit (that is also absolutely free of charge) is upon discretion of immigration authorities.
