About:240-Hour Visa-Free Transit

UK - Shanghai - Huzhou - Shanghai - Singapore

I will be travelling from the UK into Shanghai then attending a conference in Huzhou (travel Shanghai to Huzhou by train and return). Is this travel allowed under the 144 hr Visa Free programme?

Thanks for your help.

Huzhou is in Zhejiang province, and is therefore included in the Shanghai transit without visa "zone". If those are your only stops, and your passport is from one of the 53 listed countries, then your travel is eligible for 144 hours visa-free transit. In particular, your flight to Shanghai must not be via Singapore or a city in mainland China.

Thankyou for the reply. I will be traveling into Shanghai from London but will depart Shanghai to go to Singapore - I guess that is OK under this visa free programme?

Yes, it's not only OK, it's essential that you depart to a different country from the one you arrived from.
