About:24-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Going to Shenzhen (China side) from Hong Kong by train

Hi would like to travel by train from Hong Kong to Lu Wu (still HK) then walk over bridge to Shenzhen can we as uk citizens complete a visa waiver to visit for a few hours before returning to Hong Kong?

No. Your only option is the Shenzhen visa on arrival.

There is visa on arrival, just follow the signs when you arrive at LuoWu. For UK citizens it costs CNY304 (35 pounds).

A few hours is not enough to even get a glimpse of Shenzhen, however, which has a population of over 20M. Moreover the LuoWu area in the immediate vicinity to the border checkpoint is to be avoided, its full of tourist scams targeting cross border tourists and chaotic, the locals never visit the place unless they need to cross the border. Spend a little more time and go anywhere else rather than the LuoWu area to get a taste of the real thing!
