About:24-Hour Visa-Free Transit

I am taking a princess Cruise on October the boat will land in Hong kong

we will leave the boat for tours between the hour of 9am till 10:30 pm the same day and the boat will leave China. it is only one short day. what kind of visa required.

I apologize, but your question is a bit unclear. If I have properly understood, your cruise will stop only in Hong Kong of all Chinese ports. In that case, you as US citizens don't need any kind of visa because Hong Kong, having an autonomous immigration policy from the mainland China, doesn't require any kind of visa from visitors holding US citizenship.
