About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Is it okay to travel from Taipei to Beijing to Hong Kong?

I am coming in from the USA flying through Vancouver with stop over in Taipei on my way to Beijing and I would like to transit in Beijing for 48 hours before going to Hong Kong. Is this possible?

Of course it is possible. This route, if there are no additional stops between the above mentioned, is perfectly eligible for 144 hours visa free transit in Beijing and you will spend your time there without the need of any kind of visa.
