About:240-Hour Visa-Free Transit in Guangdong

Can I do a side trip from Guangzhou to Hong Kong and go and come back by train

My route would be AMS-CAN-PER. I know I could stay 144h but could I actually go to Hong Kong by train within those 144h ? I know I can go to Hong Kong but can I actually go back also as my flight is out of CAN also.

Appreciate any advice

You can take the train to Hong Kong (assuming you can show a confirmed ticket when you check-in at AMS), but you must fly back to CAN from Hong Kong.
