About:24-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Transfer Visa having been in China a few weeks before

I am travelling from the UK to Chengdu for 2 weeks next month on a Tier F visa that lasts 2 weeks, and am travelling onwards to South Korea afterwards. However my return flight to the UK a month later is via Chengdu (with the London/Chengdu and Chengdu/Korea flights on 2 separate bookings). On the way home I will be in Chengdu airport for less then 24 hours in order to change planes - does this come under the 24 transit visa, even though I was in China previously on Tier F? I am a UK passport holder.

P.s. I will have an onwards ticket to Korea for leaving Chengdu after my 2 week Tier F visa runs out. I will also have an onward ticket to London when flying from Korea to Chengdu a month later.

Essentially, the first part of your itinerary will be covered by visa and this is eligible without any doubt.

After your visa is expired, you plan to travel from South Korea back to London via Chengdu having two separate tickets and your entire transit time in Chengdu will be shorter than 24 hours.

This is definitely eligible and you will travel through Chengdu without any problem. You will have to apply for 24 hours free entry permit upon landing in Chengdu to be allowed to exit the transit area, to collect your luggage and to perform new check-in.

Indeed, there were so many travelers using visa free options after their visa has recently expired. There are no problems in doing this because this is not a visit to China, but just a transit.
