About:24-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Myammar to Beijing to take my flight Beijing- Los Angeles with a layover in Chengdu.

I have a US passport. Can I take advantage of the transit visa in Beijing, though the flight has a stop in China (Chengdu) just a couple of hours, before flying to USA ? Or does it have to be a flight without any layover?
Thank you

Leticia, your itinerary can have two or more layovers within mainland China and still to be eligible for 24 hours visa free transit. In case that the time between your first scheduled landing in China, in your case in Chengdu, and your scheduled departure from China, in your case from Beijing, takes less than 24 hours you are allowed to travel through China completely visa free.

You should just calculate how many hours will require your Chinese portion of the itinerary.

One more detail, you should be aware that your itinerary is Myanmar - Chengdu - Beijing - US, so two mainland Chinese layovers. Also, you should use correct terminology because this is not a transit visa, but a visa free (without visa) transit!
