About:How to Take Shanghai Metro

Is there a security bag check on Shanghai subway?

I'll be carrying a small bag attached to my waist, do I have to put it on the conveyor belt before passing the gate?

Yes, there is. You can put it on the conveyor or let the staff check it directly.
