About:240-hour Visa-free Transit in Shanghai, Zhejiang, and Jiangsu

Hi, I would like to make a short visit to Shanghai to visit my son

Can I travel to SH from London and return direct to London or do I need to travel to another country before returning to London?

Zupan, thank you for the reply.

I did travel on a transit visa back in 2016 with Hong Kong as my transit so that worked. Was just trying to circumvent traveling to another country/region.

Will have to rethink my travel plans.

You definitely need to insert a third country into equation to be eligible for 144 hours visa free transit. Hong Kong is also fine for that purpose although not a country.
