Wuhan - transit visa?

I have recently received information from my booking company that I will require a transit visa as I am transiting through Wuhan is this correct?
My flight includes a 3hr stop-over and change of flight in Guangzhou and 2hr stop-over in Wuhan on the same flight (same flight no.). I am an Aus citizen traveling from Brisbane to Rome.

Lewis, it is already known for years that the airlines are advising the passengers to obtain the visas. Basically they don't want to to engage even the slightest effort to learn just a bit about the visa free transit rules and the easiest thing for them is to tell, obtain a visa. Anyway, in your particular case the visa is totally excessive. Your itinerary is definitely eligible for 24 hours visa free transit and you will definitely travel through China in visa free mode.
