OK, you are definitely fine with your itinerary and your layover in Beijing is definitely covered by 24 hours visa free transit. So, you don't need any kind of visa. Anyway, to be allowed to exit the airport you have two options:
- You can apply for 24 hours free entry permit upon arrival at Beijing airport. Your chances are good, but you have to know that the issuing of entry permit is always upon discretion of immigration authorities.
- You can apply and obtain a transit (G) visa in advance and with such a visa you will be definitely allowed to exit the airport. Anyway, I really question whether does it pay to obtain a visa for such a short period.
