About:24-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Double airport and airline change in China

Hi
I land in Shanghai from London, have three hours wait time until my next flight to Hong Kong. I have a short wait in Hong Kong before my next flight to Singapore. If I have been through Chinese immigration once in Shanghai, is that sufficient or will I need to clear immigration again in Hong Kong although I am only in transit on my way to Singapore?

Thanks
Claire

You don't need to clear immigration in HK at all. You may not need to clear immigration in Shanghai if the airlines can interline your bags to the final destination (this is usually the case when flying Delta/China Eastern). HK is a separate jurisdiction under Chinese law and hence has its own immigration control and visa requirements.
