I understand why do you comment your latter itinerary as maybe a suspicious one because you have heard a rumors saying that the Chinese authorities consider Scandinavia to be one region, so an itinerary of this kind would not be eligible. In reality, there are even rumors telling that Chinese authorities consider entire EU to be one region and similar stuff. None of that is true and whatever itinerary of those mentioned above you will use, you will be granted your visa free transit in China.
