Cruise trip Shanghai-South Korea-Tianjin-South Korea and Japan

My wife and I will be traveling by cruise starting from Shanghai-South Korea-TJ-South Korea and Japan for 14 days.
1-Will we be eligible for 72 Hours transit visa in Shanghai since we will take a flight from the US and two days later embarking the cruise in Shanghai? That means we will stay two days in Shanghai.
2-Will we be eligible to get a 72 Hours visa in TJ since our cruise ship will dock there for 2,5 days coming form South Korea and leaves for South Korea and Japan? Thanks
Dan

1. Yes, no problem.
2. Sorry, if your trip route follows South Korea-TJ-South Korea, then you are not eligible for 72-hour visa-free transit because your departure spot and destination should be the different countries.
