Can I apply for Permanent Residence Permit

I have live in China since 2000 continuously. The past 14 years in Suzhou. Last year I retired from teaching English and have a ten year tourist visa. I am 68 and collect my USA social security pension which is directly deposited to the Bank of China monthly and have investmet which I also receieve monthly. Last September I was granted a 10 year tourist visa. I am not married and don't own a home. After 18 years of teaching here in China what are my chances of being granted a permenant residence in Suzhou?

Patrick, I am afraid that you may not apply for permanent residence permit. But you can contact with local Public Security Bureau for confirmation.
