Driving in Hainan

Sorry for all the questions just trying to check things off the list, I’m looking at hiring a moped bike over there is that legal I have a full English license ? Thanks for your help :)

This is still a bit of gray zone. In reality, more and more hiring agencies are allowing the visitors to rent a small 50cc scooter with an ordinary B (car) licence issued in their country of origin. For for scooters with an engine capacity of 125cc, you will be required an A1 (scooter) or A2 (small moto) driving licence, again your national one and for everything above the mentioned, you will need a full A (motor) licence. Keep in mind that some agencies are requiring International Drivers Permit (IDP) for the above mentioned rentals, but more and more of them are satisfied with the valid national licences. You will investigate a bit around when you arrive there.
