About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Traveling from JAPAN to XIAMEN to QINGDAO to USA

Hi,

My return flight will be from Japan to Xiamen (24 hour layover) then to Qingdao (3 hour layover) then back to USA. It seems that both Xiamen and Qingdao have the 72 hour Visa-free transit, but I am unsure as I am going from one area of China to another. Thank you!

You will either need
A) Tourist (L) visa
B) Itinerary that only touches only one Chinese transit zone
C) Make sure total time in china including internal flights is under 24 hours
D) book flights that Don't go through China. There are several airlines that travel between Japan and the US.
