About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Transit Visa On Arrival (Flying into Shenzhen HKG)SZX - Flying out of Hong Kong

Hi I'm a USA citizen that would like to fly into Shenzhen from Laos, visit for several days, travel buy land to Hong Kong, then fly out of Hong Kong to Chile. Is this permitted? Please let me know soon as I'm looking to fly tomorrow. Thank You.

This answer arrives to you probably too late, but I will answer anyway. Basically, your best option s not Shenzhen VOA, but 144 hours visa free transit scheme. Since you arrive from Laos to Shenzhen and after that proceed to Hong Kong, you can apply for this option. To be eligible all you have to do is to stay in Shenzhen for more than 24 hours and to book your ferry ticket from Shenzhen Shekou port to Hong Kong Macau Ferry Terminal. You can do it through CKS - Chu Kong Passenger Transportation Company website. The only drawback of this scheme is the fact that you have to book this ferry ticket online in advance and to travel by exactly that ferry you have bough your ticket for.
