About:24-Hour Visa-Free Transit

VISA SHENZEN-HONG KONG

Hello

I'm travelling from Madrid to Hanoi. Firstly, I arrive in Hong Kong airport and 15 hours later I have to take the other flight to Hanoi that leaves from Shenzhen Airport. Do I have to obtain a Visa for that?

On the other, I have to take the reverse route to return to Madrid but I have 2 days between my flight from Hong Kong to Madrid. It is possible to obtain the 5 day Shenzhen Visa on arrival in Shenzhen Airport?

The best way for your travel is the following:

- After you have landed in Hong Kong the best and by far the easiest way to reach Shenzhen is by ferry directly from Hong Kong airport. In case that your flight arrives before 15:00, you should just take a ferry to Shekou port in Shenzhen and you will apply there for 5 day Shenzhen VOA. In case that your flight arrives in Hong Kong later than that, you will take a combination of several MTR trains to reach Lo Wu border crossing. You will have to walk shortly between Lo Wu and Luohu crossing where you will apply for Shenzhen VOA. After the visa is granted, you will proceed by Shenzhen metro toward Shenzhen airport.

- After your arrival from Hanoi, you will use 144 hours visa free transit for Guangdong province. In order to be allowed to do that, you will bought your ferry ticket from Shenzhen directly to Hong Kong airport or to Hong Kong city itself from Shenzhen Shekou port at CKS - Chu Kong Passenger Transportation company website. Keep in mind that you will have to spend at least 25 hours between your flight arrival and your ferry departure in Shenzhen to be eligible for this visa free option.

Now, everything depends on your times of arrival/departure and your other obligations.
