About:China Customs Declaration

If i had to buy a phone in china, do i have to declare it as well while returning?

I want to buy oneplus 7pro on my china trip and also wanna a buy one for my son who lives in india. If i had already opened the seal and box of both the devices, am i eligible to be exempted frok custom declaration?

Generally speaking, it will be ok to be exempted for custom declaration.
