About:24-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Do I qualify for 24 hour visa?

Please bear with me while I explain my situation. I am a Nepalese citizen and I already have a one entry visa to China. I have already booked a round ticket flight from Nepal to China. But I also plan on going to the Philippines on my stay here, and the returning flight from Philippines to Beijing (around 00:00AM) is the same as the day of departure from Beijing to Nepal (around 21:00PM). The problem is that there is a connecting flight in Guangzhou and the layover is about 8 hours. So, if I'm getting only 24 hour transit in China, will I be able to leave or enter Beijing on these conditions? Will there be any problem while arriving or departing from Guangzhou?

Yes, thank you. Is it possible that I get a second visa (since the first visa is already expired on the first entry) to enter China by applying when I'm in Beijing? Or do I have to apply later on in Manila? Because I won't be staying in only one island in the Philippines and it might be a problem if I can't get a visa there. The best option for me is to get a second visa while I am in China, but can I do that?

Also, how long would it take for the second visa to be granted in China?

OK, you have your return ticket from Nepal to China and after your first arrival in China you intend to use your single entry visa, right? At the end of your visit to China you will fly to Philippines. So far, so good. You will stay there and after that your intend to fly the following itinerary:

Philippines - Beijing - Guangzhou - Nepal

The problem opens because you will arrive in Beijing at 00:00 and depart toward Nepal, but in reality toward Guangzhou at 21:00. There you will have a layover of 8 hours... Raiesh, here is the end of visa free transit. Your intended transit within mainland China exceeds 24 hours and you are not allowed to do that. Of course, you can obtain a visa and perform this itinerary, but without a visa, you shouldn't even plan it. You should change your itinerary or obtain a visa, but before you will depart from Manila or even better to say, even before you depart from Nepal.

Raiesh, you will definitely have to apply in Manila. It's impossible to apply in Beijing. Anyway, I expect that your application would be treated quite fast because you should apply just for Chinese transit visa (G type) where you will get one because you will present them your flight tickets that are not eligible for visa free transit. You should inform yourself about the working time of Chinese Manila embassy and allow enough time to wait for your visa to be granted. I just hope it will not affect, at least not too much, on your planned island hopping itinerary in the Philippines. I'm sorry, but at least now you know your situation and what you should do.

One more question, regarding the Chinese G visa, I can enter Beijing with it, is that right? I mean can I exit the Beijing International Airport with it?

Of course you can. This visa is easier to obtain, because it roughly follows your travel itinerary through mainland China and also it allows to its holder to normally exits the airports and to stay in normal accommodation.
