About:Dual Nationality

Can a CN citizen obtain Australian Permanent Residency and still retain their CN citizenship?

For example, If you're a Chinese national who moved abroad and eventually obtaining Australian Permanent Residency. Do you still keep your Chinese Citizenship?

If so, Are there any conditions? like do they require you to return back home every few years? or do you need to inform the Chinese immigration department?

China does not recognize dual nationality. If you don't join in the Australian nationality, it will be ok. In addition, you need to inform the Chinese immigration department.

My wife is Chinese and we are both living in Australia, she still has her Chinese citizenship and has a permanent residency of Australia. She travels to China for a holiday every few years. I have a dual citizenship, Australian and British as I was born in England.
