About:24-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Layover in Guangzhou, Am I eligible for 72 hour visa free transit?

I am travelling on Australian passport.
I fly from Siem Reap in Cambodia to Shanghai on 24 August on China Southern Flight CZ3054 with a 2-1/3 hour layover in Guangzhou and onto Shanghai on China Southern Flight CZ3581 arriving at 19.25 into Hongqiao Airport.
I leave on Monday 26 August on a cruise ship with next stop South Korea at 6.00 pm on Monday 26 August.

I am unsure because of the layover in Guangzhou.

You need a visa or different flights. The stop in Guangzhou limits you to 24 hours visa-free transit in China.

Thank you Saul, that's what I thought. I knew I should have taken the direct flight but it was horrible times. My mistake!
