Round trip to China-I have cruise in Oct 27- China - Japan to China coming back Nov 3.

Please advise if I am exempted for China visa under 144 rule if I will fly early to explore China before my cruise. My Cruise to Japan via Spectrum of the Sea is Oct 27th going to Japan and back Nov 3rd.
Plan to go there Oct 23rd, arrive in China Oct24th.

Appreciate your assistance.

Yes as long as flights do not also travel through airports in Japan on the way to/from Shanghai. Also make sure Shanghai/Jiangsu/Zhejiang area is the only mainland Chinese cities visited.
