Do we qualify for Shanghai 144 hr visa waiver?

Flying from Heathrow to SH via a one and half hour stopover in Dubai. We will be staying 2 nights in Shanghai in an hotel. We then board the Cruise ship in Shanghai port. The first port of call is Busan in South Korea. We will not be returning to China. We have English passports.
