About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Short trip to China.

Hello, I am visiting Japan and want to include a short trip to China as part of my vacation. I plan to fly to Beijing from Tokyo and depart from Beijing-Seattle 3 days later. It seems as though this will qualify for 72 hour policy. Can someone please confirm? (UK passport holder) thank you.

Thank you for your response, to clarify, Beijing-Seattle has 1 layover in Los Angeles. So this should see me qualify for the 72 hours? Thanks again.

Yes, itinerary Tokyo - Beijing - Seattle is definitely eligible for 144 hours visa free transit in Beijing. Anyway, you should know that your flight from Beijing to Seattle has to be a nonstop one, i.e. it should not have any additional landings in mainland China or Japan.

Just make sure Beijing-Seattle does not transit Japan or another Chinese city then you qualify
