About:24-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Visa for Claim luggage ?

Vietnamese citizen transits in Pu Dong airport Shanghai under 24hours. I will need to claim luggage and check in again . Am i need a visa for that ? Or the 24 TWOV should be fine for that ? thank in advance

No, you don't need a visa since your entire transit within mainland China is less than 24 hours. So, you are definitely covered by 24 hours visa free transit. This facility also allows the passengers to exit the transit zone of the airport if necessary as is in your case. So, if Shanghai is your only stop within mainland China and your stay there less than 24 hours, you will be allowed to perform all the necessary foramlities without any kind of visa or simply speaking - visa free. Of course, you will have to apply for entry permit upon your landing in Shanghai, but this is in your case just a formality because you have to collect your luggage and make new check-in.
