I have an international flight stopping at Urumqi and Guangzhou

by stop on the way to my holiday I am in Urumqi for 5 hour and on my way back I am there for 10 hours with an overnight.

Both legs are within the 24 hour period but i read that Urumqi only allows for a 2 hour transit time is this true? The country I live in does not have a Chinese visa application center so I cannot apply for a visa just in case. I am not on the list of 51 countries either
