China Visa as Former Chinese Citizen and Current US Citizen Living In India

Hello,

I appreciate any help. My wife is former Chinese Citizen and current US Citizen, we live in India on work permits. We need to attend company meetings in China but when she applied for a Chinese visa but was told she doesn't need one by the consulate in Mumbai. However, we recognize that China doesn't recognize dual citizenship and were told in the US she must get a Chinese visa. Any advice on how we can get a visa? Should we go to Hong Kong, surrender her old Chinese passport in Mumbai and then apply for a visa or any other ideas? We just want to be sure she can enter and exit the country.

Thank you,
Tom

You should ask for Chinese Consulate in Mumbai for more details.
