About:240-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Is this Itinerary eligible for the 144 hour transit visa?

Canadian Citizen travelling with the following Itinerary:
SYD-HKG (layover)-PEK-SYD.

Would these travel arrangements qualify me for the 144 hour visa?

As long as your return flight doesn't stop in HK again then you're fine for the 144h twov (it's not a visa).
