About:240-Hour Visa-Free Transit

144 hrs transit visa shanghai - macau - da nang

hi there, we have flights confirmed arriving on a Saturday to Shanghai from Paris, flying on Wednesday from Shanghai to Macau and on the Thursday from Macau to Da Nang. Can we apply for the transit visa as we are within 144 hours? Thanks for your help!

Unfortunately we have received an email today from the hotel we have booked in shanghai that they only let us check in with visa and NOT with transit free visa. We will have to sort out because the booking was non refundable with agoda so let´s see what happens. My question to you, is this a common habit of China hotels?

Please, just use correct terminology because you will not apply for any kind of visa, but for 144 hours visa free transit, to avoid any potential misunderstandings. Just bring your flight tickets and accommodation booking in hard copy,

No, it's not. This has happened several time when people have tried to book at New Harbour Serviced Apartments. They are definitely rejecting the passengers in visa free transit through Shanghai, but the vast majority of accommodations simply don't care about this detail. I assume that New Harbour Serviced Apartments had some problems with the police because one or more their guests might have overstayed their allowed transit time.
