R visa : cancelled or not?

I have a R visa (10 yrs) transformed into a residence permit (3yrs) thanks to my working permit. On my R visa I have a red stamp (a square) now but without any mentions. I do not know what it means, if it is cancelled or not?
Any clues?

Hi, I am unclear about the red stamp. You can ask for detailed information in local Public Security Bureau Exit and Entry Administration.

Hi, were you able to ask the reason why your R visa page was stamped red. Please I want to know because I'm in a similar condition. I was told if I apply for work permit, the 10 years R visa will be cancelled.

I am having the same problem. They canceled my R visa when applying for the residence permit. I have made a complaint, but they say it's the standard procedure. But it doesn't make any sense, because then you lose all the advantages of the R visa.
